Temporarily remove/disable screen lock

I use passcode screen lock on my G3, and use a GPS based golf app on my phone while playing a round. I pretty much in a hurry to unlock screen each time so that I can see the shot distance and other info from this app. Can I temporarily disable my screen lock only when I am golfing? Another way is to remove screen lock before a round, then I will need to reset my passcode each time afterwards.
